Today Stewart Jackson, MP for Peterborough hosted a visit by some of Peterborough’s top volunteers to the Palace of Westminster for a personal tour and meeting with The Speaker of the House of Commons as a thank you for all their work.

The volunteers were chosen at the PCVS Volunteer Awards which Mr Jackson supported earlier this year at the Town Hall.  The visit was facilitated by Leonie McCarthy at Peterborough Council for Voluntary Services and the train fares were very generously sponsored by Athene Communications.

I was delighted to welcome volunteers from Peterborough to Westminster for a special tour and a meeting with the Rt Hon John Bercow MP, Speaker of the House of Commons.  I think it is important to recognise just how hard they work and the important work they do in our city.

I want to thanks to Peterborough Council for Voluntary Services for helping to organise and Athene Communications for sponsoring.
