The Peterborough MP has pledged his support for the GDHIF which will see Peterborough residents able to claim back up to £7,600 for energy saving home improvements. Stewart Jackson has called upon locals to take part in the scheme and realise Peterborough’s ambitions to become ‘Britain’s Greenest City’.

Peterborough residents must first sign up for a Green Deal Assessment. 250,000 have already been completed so far and over 80% of people have said they would recommend them to friends and family. This will help identify what work could be undertaken and how much money will be saved.

With 800 companies signed up and 3000 applications submitted in the last fortnight already, the scheme has quickly proved to be very popular amongst the energy conscious. As this scheme is a time limited offer, it would be strongly advisable to install improvements now. £8.5 million of the £50 million available for these special rates has already gone out.

Stewart Jackson said:

“I do hope that people in Peterborough take advantage of this scheme which will help local people take the pressure off their energy bills.”
