Local MP Stewart Jackson is pressing Ministers to take action on noise from the A47. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has identified a noise hotspot on A47 near to Longthorpe.

Mr Jackson was disappointed that while this section of A47 was identified as an area that requires work in the Roads Investment Strategy, it isn’t envisaged that any improvements will be made for up to 5 years.

Mr Jackson is lobbying Ministers at the Department for Transport to ask that this section of the A47 is prioritised on Highways England’s noise mitigation programme.

Stewart Jackson said:

“Over the last ten years, I have received the same complaints about noise from residents in Longthorpe about noise from A47.  Enough is enough – my constituents have already been waiting too long for improvements that will reduce their noise problems.”
