Local MP Stewart Jackson secures key Westminster Hall Debate on St Michael’s Gate
Peterborough MP Stewart Jackson has secured a key debate in Westminster Hall to highlight the plight of the residents and former residents of St Michael’s Gate, following the evictions undertaken by the new site owner.
Stewart Jackson will publically raise the way the site has been purchased and led to the eviction of existing tenants with a senior Minister of the Government. The debate will take place on Tuesday 10th January 2017 at 4pm and will receive a response from the Government.
Stewart Jackson said:
“I look forward to raising this issue and highlighting these legal loopholes which allow unscrupulous and unaccountable business people to exploit the misery of homelessness to fill their own pockets.
My Parliamentary debate will enable me to press Ministers to look specifically at housing benefit regulations, fees paid to private sector providers and to try to ensure that the situation at St Michael’s Gate is not ever repeated”.
