Today, Peterborough MP Stewart Jackson has again met with the Peterborough branch of the National Farmers Union to hear about local concerns and issues that matter to them.
They discussed a number of important issues including the following
- rural crime
- Common Agricultural Policy reform
- use of pesticides
- water usage
Stewart Jackson MP said
“Whilst being MP for Peterborough means I am largely representing an urban area, there is a large amount of good quality farmland in the east of my constituency and surrounding it. Farmers are an important part of Peterborough’s local economy and it is important to regularly hear what matters to them so that I can represent all of my constituents. After all it is our local farmers who help feed our city.”
