Today Stewart Jackson MP has publicly backed The Big Deal and The Sun’s collective switch campaign to save constituents in Peterborough hundreds of pounds on their energy bills.
The Big Deal uses the collective power of thousands of members to negotiate with energy companies to get a better energy deal.
After revealing the kickback culture of price comparison websites, The Big Deal & The Sun will not be taking a commission from this collective switch and instead will focus on getting the best deal possible – up to £300 in savings.
Signing up is free, takes less than 60 seconds and there is zero obligation.
Stewart Jackson MP said:
“Energy bills are a major concern for constituents in Peterborough, that’s why I am pleased to support The Sun and The Big Deal’s People Power campaign. I urge as many people as possible to sign up so the best deal possible can be negotiated. Together we can take on the Big Six energy companies and cut bills for hard working families.”
Will Hodson, Co-Founder of The Big Deal, said:
“The backing of Stewart Jackson MP is incredibly valuable to our campaign and will help many more people save money on their energy bills. By coming together we can cut our bills. More people means lower bills, so we urge people to sign up for free.”
Daniel Jones, The Sun’s Consumer Editor, said:
“Something needs to be done about Britain’s energy market. Consumers have seen their bills spiralling upwards while energy firms’ profits hit record levels. We increasingly turn to price comparison sites but, as The Sun has revealed, we can’t trust these sites to give us the best deal.”
Lynne Langshaw, 63 from Rochdale, saved £400 with the Big Deal earlier this year:
“This is my first switch. I have a serious medical condition and need extra heat in the very cold months. I had no problem switching and I recommend The Big Deal to anyone who want to ditch the greedy big six companies.”
Chris and Andrea Goldsmith, a retired transport manager and teacher respectively, both aged 61 from Chorley, also saved £400:
“We’ve both retired early so every penny counts. Being able to save so much while protecting ourselves from price rises was brilliant. We’ve never switched before so teaming up with 10,000 others gave us piece of mind and meant we knew we were getting a good deal. We’ll be spending our saving on our granddaughter.”
